John DesCamp Sr.

John's business background includes forty five years experience in business and law, including two years as a corporate credit analyst and eight years with IBM Corporation.

From 1974 to 1990, he was engaged in the private practice of law in Portland, Oregon where he co-founded and served as Chairman of Weiss, DesCamp and Botteri, a business and tax specialty law firm.  In 1990, he co-founded and was the CEO of a company which designed and manufactured export homes.  In 1991, he became CEO of Capital Credit, Inc., a niche market asset-based commercial lending company.

From 1994 to 2002, he was active in the field of investment banking and was managing director of a Palo Alto-based investment banking firm. He has served as a business consultant and financial expert for both private businesses and the Federal government, and has been an expert witness in legal proceedings on financial, business and investment banking matters.

John entered the mortgage business in 2003 and is employed by The Legacy Group, where he is actively involved in promoting the company’s growth in the Oregon market.  A significant part of his practice involves large balance loans, complex mortgage transactions and non-traditional products.  He is also active in Legacy Capital's Oregon operations, which include non-bank commercial lending, construction loans and distressed property transactions.

John holds a B.A. degree from Seattle University (1965, Magna cum laude) and a J.D. degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College (1974, cum laude).
